CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Nov. 1, 2012/mbb/) - Big Rock Brewery Inc. (TSX:BR) is excited to introduce Barghest Barleywyne as the second brew in the Alchemist Edition. Brewed from the careful selection of six malts, painted with soft hues of ruby, and finished with the selective pairing of Northern Brewery and Fuggle hops arrives Barghest Barleywyne. Savour the deep rich flavours and aromas enhanced by the dark dried fruit balancing the bold body with its luxurious finish that is created through the year long maturation period, bringing this seductive beverage to an alcohol content of 9.5%.

"Never have I been involved in producing a beer as special as the Barghest Barleywyne," says Brewmaster Paul Gautreau. "This beer has been nurtured through careful brewing and maturation as well as the passionate team work required for the creative design and packaging of this exceptional offering."

Barley wine is made from barley but is named due to the similar alcohol content of wine. Originated in England, this style reveals a depth of flavour and richness that will warm your belly and blush your cheeks.

To see where you can find one of the 3000 bottles of Barghest Barleywyne, visit the Beer Goggles section on our website www.bigrockbeer.com/beer-finder. Be sure to watch the video of the Big Rock crew hand dipping the bottles into the wax http://www.bigrockbeer.com/beer/barghest-barleywyne.

In brewing, as in life, you have to take risks to reap rewards. For the Alchemist Edition, Brewmaster Paul ventures deep into uncharted brewing territory to craft bold, small batch beers that pay no heed to the rules of what came before. Adventurous and experimental, these risky brews are their own reward.
