It's been quite a ride, and it gets better every year.
We've been brewing beer and sharing life with our loyal supporters since 2006.
We've clinked glasses together, swapped stories about the day, been there for each other through life's twists, turns, ups, downs, celebrations and commemorations. And with so much that happens in 6 years, it was time to celebrate not just our anniversary, but the very folks who make it all possible: you. So, here’s our thank you to you: 6 {a Brewers Reserve Brandy Barrel-Aged Barleywine}
As you know, Barleywine isn’t actually a wine. Historically the word described a brewery’s strongest beer. At 9.5% ABV, our strong, flavorful sipper of an American Barleywine will be a welcome companion during the wet cold of winter. We jazzed up this beer with special malts such as Castle Munich (for a nod to Oktoberfest season) and flaked rye for some spicy zip. Bittered with CTZ hops, we dialed in this Barleywine at 80 IBUs, then poured on the Crystal hops to bring home refreshing hop aromas.
And we were just getting started.
From brew and fermentation, our American Barleywine then matured for a year in brandy barrels, sourced from Heaven Hill Distilleries in Kentucky. Once ready for bottling, we knew we'd created just the right beer to celebrate 6 years of Oakshire.
Brewers Reserve 6 Brandy Barrel-Aged Barleywine brings you barrel flavors of complex fruit, oak and brandy. These combine with this robust American Barleywine's caramel and toffee notes, providing a warm, soothing and luxurious drinking experience. It's a beer to raise your fork to as well. 6 pairs beautifully with roast pork, grilled sausages, smoked salmon, aged gouda, mild blue cheese, cheddar, derby with sage, burgers, ginger spice cake, bread pudding and oatmeal raisin cookies.
We've bottled 6 in 750ml corked-and-caged bottles for your enjoyment now or for cellaring for a future occasion. Available only at our Eugene Tasting Room, quantities are limited.
