Lakefront Fixed Gear Wins Silver @ GABF 2012

MILWAUKEE (October 15, 2012) – Lakefront Brewery, Inc. proudly announced winning a silver medal for their Fixed Gear Red Ale at the Great American Beer Festival that took place in Denver, Colorado last week.

Lakefront Brewery’s Fixed Gear Red Ale was rated 2nd among the 87 beers entered into the American-Style Amber/Red Ale category. The category is traditionally dominated by west coast breweries, whose beers typically favor hop flavor and bitterness.

“I feel our brewers are among the best in the country on how to use the flavor of the hop to enhance the brew, and this award shows the judges agreed, too,” stated brewery president Russ Klisch. Klisch added,“Since we released Fixed Gear in 2009, it has been our fastest growing brand, and it’s good that the beer gets some recognition.”
