NORWALK, Conn., Oct. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/mbb -- Diageo, the world's leading premium spirits, wine and beer company, announced today that it was ranked 28th globally on LinkedIn's Most InDemand Employers 2012 List. The list recognizes the world's 100 most sought-after employers based on billions of interactions from LinkedIn's more than 175 million members.

"We are honored to be acknowledged by LinkedIn as a top global employer," said Larry Schwartz, President, Diageo North America. "Our success as a business depends on the success of our people. So we make sure that we create an environment where all our employees feel included and able to perform at their best."

To create the list, LinkedIn analyzed billions of data points between members and companies and compared the data with surveys of thousands of members to determine a company's familiarity and engagement score. The analysis also weighted member actions like viewing employee profiles, visiting Company Pages and following companies.

Diageo has been recognized multiple times in 2012 as a top employer, including a citation in Diversity MBA Magazine's "50 Out Front for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers To Work" and Working Mother magazine's "100 Best Companies" list.
