Commissioners adopted a resolution from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission that recommended approval of the license for Gilligan-Steele Tasting LLC at 432 E. Paterson St.

The approval will allow Boatyard owners Brian Steele and Daniel Gilligan to purchase the license from the state for $200. At Boatyard, they will manufacture beer but will not have takeout sales, according to a memo to city commissioners prepared by Chief Jeff Hadley of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.
