The Bruery - Sour Rugbrød Coming 10/1, Reserve Bottle List

imageA busy week coming up fro The Bruery:

This upcoming wee we have all kinds of fun things planned for you. We'll be brining on a brand new beer, adding some curated flights to our lineup and will also be brining back a reincarnation of our long dormant Reserve Bottle List!

This upcoming Monday is going to be a busy one for us over here. First off, we'll be releasing a brand new variation of an old classic- Sour Rugbrod. Sour Rugbrød, which comes in at 7.6% ABV, is a variation of our classic Danish-style rye brown ale which has been soured with our proprietary mix of yeasts and bacteria. To celebrate the release of that draft only offering we will be pouring a flight of some of our favorite sours -- Hottenroth, Sans Pagaie, Oude Tart, Sour Rugbrød and Tart of Darkness. For those of you looking for a good introduction to sour beer, this is a great opportunity to try some of the best we have to offer.

As if that weren't enough, we will also be brining back our Reserve Bottle list that day. For those of you who are uninitiated with our Reserve Bottle List, we bring out special bottles, many of which are were limited in their original release or have since been discontinued, and make them available for on-premises consumption. The idea behind that program is that we would like to make many of our favorite beers available for you to enjoy with friends and family. As a twist on our old format, we will now be donating half of all Reserve Bottle List sales to charity. We think this is a great way for us to give back a bit to our community and provide many of our most die-hard fans access to some limited beer. This list will be available everyday, with the list changing slightly each season.

As always, we will have some fantastic food trucks around for your enjoyment as well. Friday night Hula Moon will be around dishing up their Hawaiian fare, Saturday Bite Me Foods will be here serving their tasty comfort food and Sunday our old friends at the Viking Truck will be around to serve some sausage up to the crowds watching football.

This weekend we will be serving:

Dear Reserve Society member,

The year is not quite through and we still have some major releases coming your way, but it’s already time to start thinking about 2013!

Between today, September 28th, 2012 and Wednesday, October 24th, 2012, you have the exclusive opportunity to sign up for the 2013 Reserve Society and you are GUARANTEED a space in our membership during this period.

On October 25th, sales for 2013 will open up to the public, at which point, we can no longer guarantee your spot.

We are VERY excited for some of the beers that 2013 will be bringing such as “Bois” aged in several types of oak barrels, Kumquat Sour in the Rye, a barrel aged English-style barleywine with Portola coffee, a barrel aged apricot strong ale, and the first ever bottling of Cherry Oude Tart. All of these beers will be EXCLUSIVE to the Reserve Society, plus more!

For those who live in California, we will also be able to ship beer within the state beginning in 2013 at an additional cost, we think this will be a great opportunity for those who rarely get a chance to visit our brewery. If you would like to have the beers that are included with the membership shipped to you, we will sell a “shipping package” for the included beers in January, once the system is setup to handle that request. From then on, each allocation will have it’s own shipping option when you purchase the beer.

Full details on the membership, including a list of likely beers, is available on the webstore at http://society.thebruery.com so head on over and renew today!
