I couldn’t resist this press release from Phusion Projects Four Loko’s “Lokoween” promotion:
CHICAGO, Sept. 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/mbb/ -- Phusion Projects, the makers of Four Loko and Poco Loko, announced today that it's turning this year's Halloween into a "Lokoween" celebration for fans and consumers. The company will do so through themed programs via its distributor and retail channels, sponsored Halloween events, and by tapping into new offerings on its Facebook page to increase its brand presence during the holiday. Fans are also encouraged to host their own "Lokoween" house parties and to share their best "Lokoween" costumes through social media.
According to a recent article on MSNBC.com, Halloween has become one of the premier adult holidays in the U.S. with parties and events occurring throughout the month of October. In order to help consumers celebrate to the fullest, Phusion Projects will utilize Facebook and Twitter to promote many "Lokoween" initiatives. Interactive applications will launch, such as "Clown Yourself," a photo morphing application that allows fan images to be transformed into scary circus clown faces which can be shared virally.
Special "Lokoween" events are also planned for select major markets, including sponsorship of "Webster Hell," a week-long celebration of Halloween held at the iconic Webster Hall in New York City, and a "Lokoween" bar crawl in New Orleans.
"Four Loko's brand is a perfect pairing with the adult-oriented, fun-loving Halloween holiday spirit. We want to provide interactive and fun ways for consumers to show their unique tastes by tapping into the excitement surrounding Halloween," said Chris Hunter, one of the co-founders of Phusion Projects. "In addition, we are providing our distribution partners with the tools to participate in the 'Lokoween' celebration at the store level."
Distributors and retailers will receive "Lokoween" point-of-sale materials to ensure their stores and displays are decked out and bring attention to holiday celebrations.
