From Great Divide’s newsletter:
Here’s a sneak peek of our Sour Room. As the brain child of our head brewer Taylor Rees, the Great Divide Sour Program will bring you the sort of nuance and balance you’ve come to expect in our current portfolio, but with a walk on the wild side.
Anyone who has visited the brewery here in Denver knows we are bursting at the seams. As part of our continued expansion, we have added a brand new grain silo out in the Tank Farm. This towering beauty will hold the Colorado-grown, 2-row malt barley that makes up the backbone for many of our award-winning beers.
And this from First Drafts:
The award-winning downtown Denver brewery isn’t fiddling around with the style any more.
By the end of the year, Great Divide hopes to have about 70 wine and spirit barrels filled with sour beer with the hope that the first batches will be ready for tapping in mid-2013, Reese said.
