Bronx Brewery Rye Pale Ale Coming Next Week

imageGood news for Rye beer lovers coming from Bronx Brewery :

(New York, NY) – New York City’s northernmost craft brewery, The Bronx Brewery, will introduce the Bronx Rye Pale Ale next week.

The new beer will go on sale in select bars and restaurants throughout Manhattan and the Bronx on August 23. Supply will be limited, as the brewery expects to produce just 140 kegs of this beer. Says General Manager Chris Gallant, “With the bulk of our production capacity dedicated to the Bronx Pale Ale since last September, we have been unable to produce our other recipes. We were excited this summer to have an opportunity to brew and share this Rye Pale Ale with the New York beer community.”

The brewers will introduce the new beer at a special tasting on Thursday, August 23 from 7PM to 10PM at Randolph Beer (343 Broome Street, New York). Gallant and Head Brewer Damian Brown will be on hand to talk about the new beer and answer questions about the recipe development and the brewing process. The beer will be poured alongside the brewery’s flagship Bronx Pale Ale. Cask versions of both beers will be on hand as well.

Apart from aged variants of the flagship ale, the Bronx Rye Pale Ale is just The Bronx Brewery’s second offering. With malted and flaked rye making up nearly a quarter of the grain bill, this beer has a unique and intense spicy rye flavor and golden-orange hue. Chinook and Crystal hops lend a gentle bitterness and a piney, herbal character and aroma to this rich, bold rye beer. Says Brown “we really wanted to showcase rye in this beer – it offers such a unique spicy flavor and at twenty-five percent of the grain bill, it’s definitely front and center.”
