Good news from our pal Jeff Edgerton @ Bridgeport brewing:

(Portland, OR) – BridgePort Brewing Company, Oregon’s oldest craft brewery, will release its newest fall seasonal this month. The aptly titled, Witch Hunt, is a spiced harvest ale with an intense dry hop character that is finished off with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. BridgePort brewmaster, Jeff Edgerton, used Caramel and Melanoidan malts in this recipe to bring a rich mouth feel and caramel color to the spiced ale.

“With all of the pumpkin ales that come out in the fall, we wanted to try something a little different,” comments Edgerton. “This is still a beer that you can enjoy alongside the comfort foods of fall but the spice flavors are subtle enough that you can have more than just one in a sitting without being overwhelmed.”

BridgePort will host a Witch Hunt release party Thursday, August 9 starting at 5:30 pm at BridgePort Brewpub in Portland. Free and open to the public, attendees can be among the first to try samples of this new fall seasonal while supplies last. The brewpub team will also have a tarot card reader on hand for guests who want to get into the spooky spirit of this new brew.

BridgePort’s Witch Hunt Stats:

IBU’s: 40 ABV: 5.8% Color: Caramel OG: 15.8
