Exciting environmental news from New Belgium (Executive Summery Here, Full report Here):
Welcome to New Belgium’s Sustainable Business Story. We are honored that you are taking a moment to familiarize yourself with our heart-felt approach to business at this Colorado-based brewery. This report shares the philosophies driving New Belgium’s approach to environmentally, socially and economically conscious business. It conveys the goals guiding our voyage towards a business truly aligned with nature and its inhabitants. In the following pages we share our principal successes and challenges on this journey in an effort to help other organizations following this path, but also to maintain transparency – an imperative element in true sustainability.
Our commitment towards sustainability in brewing & business began on Day One of New Belgium’s history when our co-founders included environmental stewardship in the first draft of the company’s Core Values and Beliefs. Since then, a company culture has been evolving in which coworkers grasp this high-minded corporate vision and make it a reality. Our engaged coworkers deserve much praise for their individual commitment to the values that drive New Belgium, and ultimately result in the successes mentioned throughout this report.
Should you wish to participate in our journey toward Sustainability (and we hope you do!) please submit feedback online. At New Belgium, we strive to both follow and lead in this global movement that is creating a values-driven world that preserves our ability to flourish as human beings. This is truly a collaborative process. If you have feedback or suggestions, we welcome you to contribute to our effort by dropping us a line at
sustainability@newbelgium.com.
And please note that this report is continually evolving. It builds on much of the content from our first Sustainability Report, and it will be updated as new projects are announced. We will publish an Executive Summary annually, while Our Sustainable Business Story will simply evolve throughout the year, always offering an up-to-date account of our past, present and future efforts in the matters of “triple bottom line” business.
With gratitude,
Kim Jordan, cofounder & CEO
Jennifer Orgolini, Sustainability Director
Katie Wallace, Sustainability Specialist
