What We Spend On Booze, Courtesy of NPR

A great story on NPR comparing what we spent on alcohol in 1982 versus what we spend now in 2012.  The report highlights where we spend our money (bars versus stores), how the price has changed at east over the last 20 years, and of the portion we spend at stores, what are we buying (the graphic above).  Interesting to note that a) we are spending more of our money at stores for home consumption, b) store prices have decreased while bar prices have increased almost 80%, and c) wine has seen the largest store purchase increase compared to beer & liquor which have both decreased since 1982.  The full article is interesting and can be found here….and yes I’m doing my part to get beer in-store purchases to increase.
