TORONTO, May 8, 2012 - Bud Light Lime Mojito - a new beer from Bud Light Lime - has officially launched across the country. Inspired by one of the world's most popular cocktails, Bud Light Lime Mojito is a light bodied beer that is pleasantly sweet with a subtle flavor of lime and fresh mint, reminiscent of a traditional Mojito.
"Bud Light Lime was the biggest beer innovation of the past decade, and has maintained its position as the #1 flavoured beer in Canada. This summer, we're excited to build on its success with the launch of Bud Light Lime Mojito," said Lisa Kittelsen, National Marketing Manager for Bud Light. "Canadians are increasingly experimenting with flavoured beer, looking for variety in their beer options and gravitating to a sweeter palette. Bud Light Lime Mojito is a perfect option for them. It has the great taste of Bud Light Lime with the added twist of fresh mint -- and makes for an extremely refreshing flavoured beer for summer."
Bud Light Lime Mojito pairs nicely with spicier flavours - including fresh salsas, Thai curries and spicy gazpacho - as it offsets the spiciness of the dishes, while the lime and mint enhance the food's flavour. It also complements meat dishes that have a mint-based marinade or sauce like lamb, pork or chicken.
Bud Light Lime Mojito is available in Canada only, and can be found at retail locations across the country in 6-and-12-pack bottles, 6-and-12-pack cans and 473 ml cans in Ontario.
I'm no fan of this new beer. A friend and work colleague recently concocted and named a far better combination: The Mojeineken. Simply mix up a large mojito, but use a little extra rum and sugar that you would usually. Decant the result over ice in two separate glasses so you basically have two half Mojios. Then top up each glass with cold Heineken. Delicious!

ReplyDeleteI had this while in Toronto a few weeks ago. They were giving away a two can sample to everyone. Took it home and put it in the fridge and wow, it was tasty. Really wish we had these in the states.
ReplyDeleteJust tried this beer. I like Bud Lite lime but this new beer is fantastic. I love it, very refreshing. We spend the winter in Arizona and sure wish I could get it there.

ReplyDeleteDon't like the words "limited edition" on the cans. THIS BEER IS FANTASTIC - AND I MEAN REALLY FANTASTIC - IT NEEDS TO BE AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND - NOT JUST DURING SUMMER.

ReplyDeleteIt's drastically increased my beer consumption, and killed off all of my second choice beers. All I want is Bud Light Mojito!
