After spending 5 long days at sea on my last cruise (not Royal Caribbean) with my best beer-option being Guinness Cans, I’m happy to see Royal Caribbean expanding their line-up of beer selections on-board. Details from USAToday:
Over the past year, Royal Caribbean has added more than half a dozen brews to the menus found at its shipboard pubs, including a number of craft beers from small U.S. breweries. The additions include a wheat beer from Oregon's Widmer Brothers brewery and an India pale ale from Washington state's Redhook brewery.
Royal Caribbean's director of fleet beverage operations Bob Midyette tells USA TODAY, noting that the line "had not always paid that much attention to beer."
Royal Caribbean's expanded beer menu, available in the pubs found on about half its ships, features more than 40 beer choices, up from about 25 a year ago. In addition to new selections from the USA, which also include a pale ale from California's Sierra Nevada brewery and a double bock from Massachusetts' Samuel Adams brewery, the line has added more international beers including a Belgian Trappist beer from Belgium's monk-run Chimay brewery.
