Hooker to the Rescue (Dog Rescue That Is)

With a title like that I can just see the sort of traffic heading my way….but this is a good story.  Thomas Hooker Brewery is sponsoring an event called Bark & Brew to benefit Double Dog Rescue…

The Hooker Brewery, 16 Tobey Road, Bloomfield, will host a beer-tasting fundraiser May 19 to benefit Double Dog Rescue, a volunteer group that rescues dogs from high-kill shelters in the south.

The event, dubbed Bark & Brew, will include a chili cook-off, raffle, brewery tours and music performed by The Richerds. Tickets are $20 if ordered by May 12, or $25 at the door.

“For every $150 raised, we can pull a dog out of a high-kill shelter,” said Dan McCabe, a volunteer for Double Dog Rescue. “We’ve been operating since 2006, and have helped thousands of dogs find new homes in the Farmington Valley.”  (Full details HERE @ The Avon News)
