Dogfish Head & Alamo Name Off-Centered Film Fest Winners

Congratulations to all of the winners in the Dogfish Head Off-Centered Film Fest.  Here’s the news from DFH:

Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales and Alamo Drafhouse Cinema send out the highest of fives to the winning filmmakers from the 5th-annual Off-Centered Film Fest.

Congratulations to first-place winner "The Rainbow Ranch Inn" (directed by Giselle Kennedy—above), second-place winner and top online vote-getter "Rodriguez" (directed by Ryan Quinn—below), and third-place winner "Baby Bonanza" (directed by Sharon Mitchell—bottom). Each won a cash prize, travel to Austin and a boatload of swag for their Western-themed shorts.

Dogfish's Sam Calagione, Alamo's Tim League and the winning filmmakers joined more than 1,000 craft beer and film fans April 19-21 in Austin, Texas, for three nights of fun, film and fermentation. Besides the short-film competition, there was an outdoor "Blazing Saddles" quote-along, a "Once Upon a Time in the West" beerfest and a celebrity screening of the online series Wainy Days with David Wain, Joe Lo Truglio and Ken Marino. A pie-throwing contest also raised $1,000 for the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.

If you missed this year's fest, put next year's on the calendar now. The 6th-annual Off-Centered Film Fest will go down April 18-20, 2013, in Austin. And yes, filmmakers, we're tossing around ideas for next year's theme. Stay tuned!
