Lots of good news from Weyerbacher including expanded hours for the visitor center, expansion of the visitor center itself, an update on their Hops Infusion replacement (Coming in May) and a sour “black-beer” coming out of a 10-month aging in Rapture barrels and heading for 750ml bottles (no name yet.) More details from Weyerbacher’s Bill Bragg…
Visitors Center News!
Good News! Weyerbacher's Visitors Center has become so popular that we have decided to expand our hours from Saturdays only to now include Friday nights! If you want to avoid the hustle & bustle of a busy Saturday or just need to pick up some great beer for the weekend, we encourage you to come out on Friday between 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. All the same cases, growlers, kegs and merchandise will be available to you. Conditions permitting, we're even going to run an abbreviated tour at 6:00 pm. Why conditions permitting and abbreviated? Some Fridays we will still be brewing and it requires a lot of forklift activity, as well as potentially hazardous wet floors. If we can't run a full tour, we'll still take you around to see the bottling lines and fermenters and we can probably peek through the door and see what's up at the brewhouse.
We've also extended our last-call on Saturdays by 30 minutes for the folks returning from the final tour, so they have ample time to sample and mix up a case. We're still going to close the brewery door at 3 pm, but there will not be a rush at the end to check out.
In addition, we've modified the layout of the Visitors Center to accommodate our ever growing number of visitors and provide you with a more comfortable gathering space by doing all of the following:
We've added a second cash register to reduce your check-out wait!
We've moved the cash register out from behind the bar to allow you better access to our barkeeps and the tasty beers they provide!
We've removed all of the shelves of beer and glassware from the bar area. We're now going to pack the cases for you, affording guests more time to enjoy their visit and less time trying to pack a case amidst the crowd of people sampling. Also, this makes for more room near the bar for groups to gather and discuss the beers.
So come out some Friday or Saturday and check it out! We still have the same great variety of 10 or so rotating beers for you to sample when you visit plus one of the highest-rated brewery tours in the country, according to Ratebeer.com Best Breweries to Visit in 2012!
Expansion Update!
We've broken ground! The excavators are hard at work digging out a portion of our back parking lot to make way for our new 7,500 square foot addition! The addition is a purpose-built structure with sloped floors and built-in drainage which will house our bottling lines, fermenters, filtration and kegging operations! Here is a photo of the hole as of Monday, March 26th. As you can see, they've been very busy!
New beers!
By now you should have heard that the Hops Infusion legacy has run its course and that we are replacing it with a new West Coast-Style IPA scheduled to be brewed for release in May. We're also working on a name for a new brewery-release-only 750 ml packaged "sour black" beer, which has just come out of the Rapture barrels after 10 months of aging. We're planning an event for each of these awesome beers so be sure to stay tuned for details!
The Packaging Redesign
We are very pleased to state that the logo redesign on our 6 year-round beers, as well as our tap markers, is making excellent progress. We have some labels which are complete and some in the final stages of revision. Paired with the new logo and the addition of the Jester to all of our packages, the labels, 6 and 4 pack carriers and boxes are going to look really good. Along with the new packaging, you can expect a new line of very high quality merchandise including apparel, glassware, bottle openers and yes, finally, even some signs! We'd love to tease you with a little preview but... we're not going to. You're just going to have to wait and see this summer.
Blanche
Blanche, our amazingly refreshing unfiltered Belgian-style Wit, is shipping to distributors and will be rolling into markets mid-April; just in time for you to get out and do all of your yard work! Click here to read more about Blanche!
We hope to see you soon at the Visitors Center!
Cheers!
