Imagine having a Portsmouth Brewery Kate The Great and shopping for sour cherries at the same time at your local Farmers Market…well if NH State Rep Donna Schlachman has her way, you can.
The full NH House Bill can be found here.
An Exeter lawmaker has received strong support for a bill aimed at allowing small New Hampshire breweries to sell beer at local farmers markets.
State Rep. Donna Schlachman, D-Exeter, is the prime sponsor of House Bill 1172, which will be up for a vote tomorrow.
Schlachman said she put the bill together after talking to small brewers like North Hampton's Throwback Brewery. Currently, only wine can be sold at local farmers markets like the ones held in Exeter and Portsmouth.
Schlachman said it makes sense to support local businesses like breweries.
