Based on the name, you can figure out that Tweak is a Stout with Coffee added….but the big surprise coming from Avery Brewing is the HE 15.5% ABV in this beer. Maybe it should have been named Imperial Tweak.

Is this Meph addict renamed?
ReplyDeleteCOuld be...or a "tweaked" version ;)
ReplyDeleteI heard some anti-drug group was giving them guff over the fact the "meph addict" was too similar to "meth addict." At Stout Month at Mountain Sun in Boulder they were calling Mephistopheles Coffestopheles. Super weak
ReplyDeleteSomeone always wants to rain on the parade....it could be a new name.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is Meph-Addict renamed. The TTB wouldn't give them approval for that name. They can call it that at the brewery, or Avery functions, but to sell it anywhere else they have to have a TTB approved name. You'd be surprised how silly TTB can be...example, at the Yak & Yeti, they cannot call their IPA Himalayan IPA...unless it was from the Himalayas. That is why its Himalaya STYLE IPA. There are a bunch of other really stupid TTB rules, its really just more typical government red tape BS
