Cabinet Artisanal Ales / Farmer’s Cabinet Alexandria DC Brewhouse & Wabash Cannonball Kegged

imageLooks like it’s official….we’ve been talking to our pal Terry Hawbaker for weeks about this but the Farmer’s Cabinet made it official.  Cabinet Artisanal Ales brewhouse officially has a name and is officially producing beers, and they have plans to open a tasting room for sampling, growler fills & even snacks in the future.

imageI’ve also included a picture of the Stillwater Artisanal Ales / Cabinet Artisanal Ales (Brian Strumke / Terry Hawbaker) Co-brewed Wabash Cannonball being kegged today.  Look for this fig juice / balsamic vinegar blend on draft soon.

CABINET ARTISANAL BREWHOUSE

We are more-than-excited to announce the addition of our 5bbl Brewhouse in Alexandria, VA. Cabinet Artisanal Brewhouse is located in the same building as the former Shenandoah Brewery, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Terry Hawbaker, a 7 year veteran of Bullfrog Brewing, is our Brewmaster. With our special house yeast, will be focusing on making “primitive field” beers in our urban farmhouse brewery. A field beer can be defined as a grisettes, saisons, traditional lambics, etc… Terry has always had a fondness for reinventing European-style Farmhouse ales. Terry is by no means a traditional brewer, and he thrives by mixing up new and old brewing techniques. Barrel aging is certainly in the works, as this is an area where Terry has produced some of his most successful beers.

OUR PHILOSOPHY:

“Cabinet Artisanal Brewhouse is a small, eclectic Urban-Farmhouse brewery located in the Burbs of DC. We specialize in the production of inspired, rustic ales on our 5 bbl brewhouse utilizing a unique strain of saison yeast and relying on nature and the elements. We have no control over fermentation temperature so we brew seasonally, in a more natural setting, creating interesting challenges and ultimately more unique ales of distinction. We also implement the use of barrel-aging, a time honored technique that encourages the growth of wild yeast and bacteria, creating even more character and nuance.”

We are currently working on opening up our tasting room for sampling, growler fills, and small snacks.

Please stay tuned, as we have exciting plans ahead!
