Otter Creek Brewery–Tank Explosion

Looks like a primary fermentation tank exploded this morning at Otter Creek Brewing in Midddlebury VT.  Details from OCB’s Facebook:

Two small fermentation tanks were damaged at the Otter Creek Brewing Company today Monday, November 14, 2011. No one was injured, and no structural damage was sustained. Some siding to the building was damaged. As the company’s safety procedures require, the production area was evacuated of personnel and Middlebury Emergency Services responded.

An assessment is underway to determine the cause of the incident. The company expects full operations to resume this week. Marie Leduc, Purchasing & Inventory Manager at Otter Creek Brewing has confirmed there is more than adequate supplies of finished goods on hand at Otter Creek and with area wholesalers and retailers.
