Redhook Brewery (aka Widmer Brothers) have been releasing a number of specialty keg-only one-off brews from a series of experimental beers called the Blueline series. Redhook did previously use this nomenclature for their experimental beers, and to that they are also adding a new series of beers called the backyard series. These are experimental beers that allow the brewers to do what they do best, without worrying about the long-term commercialism of the beer. Today we saw approval for the Blueline Series Dunkelweizen (6% ABV) and the Backyard Series Red Lager (yes it’s called Red Lager Ale?). As a bonus I’ve also included the Redhook O’Casey’s Irish Style Stout keg package (previously released as a Widmer Brothers brew).
