Otto's and Zeno's

From Dave @ Zeno's:

State College, PA
Charlie and the brewers @ Otto's have delivered the first keg of Zeno's Black Lager to us - due to be tapped tommorow.

Following the successful release (and draining) of the first batch of Zeno's Rye Ale,I went to Charlie with a request for a full bodied rye schwarzbier.

The Zeno's Black Lager comes in at about 6.5 ABV and will be available on draft only.

The second batch of Zeno's Rye Ale will return to the pub in a few weeks and will be available in 22oz bottles in the bottle shop.(a barrel aged version of Zeno's Rye Ale is possible come spring)(yes, I got a thing for rye)

cheers,
Dave @ Zeno's - pretty sweet to have a regular become a successful brewer...(yeah Otto's ! )

  1. This is truly a selfless partnership. Zeno's could easily look at Otto's as a competitor for their business, but instead chooses to use the quality and versatility of Charlie and his staff to their competitive advantage. The rye ale was stupendous (somewhat reminiscent of Bell's Two Hearted, IMHO) and I would expect no less from the new release.

Congratulations, Dave, on staying ahead of the establishments who THINK they're tuned in to good beer!!
