Hoppin’ Frog - Gavel Slammer Dark Ale 11/25

image
Here’s a new bottle coming from Hoppin’ Frog in Akron, OH.  This is Gavel Slammer and it is a dark ale that goes “light years over the top of Ohio’s old beer/alcohol limit.”  This celebrates Hoppin’ Frog’s efforts in that battle (H.B. 37) and the fact that they were presented with the Judge’s actual gavel from the final court proceeding to remove the alcohol limit.  This beer looks to hit 17.4%-AbV and 65 IBU and you’re looking at the 22oz bottle.  This beer will be released on Black Friday and the final artwork is below.

From Hoppin’ Frog

11/25-11/26

Here at Hoppin' Frog Brewery we've learned to tame the yeast like never before! So, I'm extremely happy to announce that on Black Friday, November 25th we will be releasing Gavel Slammer 17.4% ABV Monumental Dark Ale!! We created an amazingly complex and satisfying flavor profile with this beer, and its more balanced & smoother than we ever imagined. Beers like this are really hard to make and take a long time to mature - they are few and far between. So, Gavel Slammer will be sold exclusively at the brewery, on draft and in bottles to-go, and will not be released for distribution.

We will open doors one hour early, at 10:00 a.m. both on Friday and Saturday to accommodate this very special beer release. And to celebrate in a grand way, we will be offering chicken and waffles for breakfast! What a great way to start your holiday shopping - early, and at Hoppin' Frog Brewery!! Mark your calendars now, we hope to see you here!
