Workers Injured in Samuel Adams Boiler Room Explosion (Upper Macungie, PA)

Still collecting details on this one but injuries are reported to be NOT serious….from The MorningCall:

A Sam Adams employee was injured in an explosion at the Upper Macungie brewery Thursday afternoon, according to scanner reports. 

The man was struck in the head by flying debris, according to Lehigh County emergency dispatchers. The explosion was reported just before 12 p.m. in a boiler room, dispatchers said. .

Employees were waiting outside of the brewery located at 7880 Penn Drive as emergency workers arrived. No one else was injured and no fire was reported.

UPDATE: 

Michelle Sullivan says the accident happened just after 12 p.m. Thursday at the facility and emergency services responded to the scene. She says one worker in the boiler room was hit with either smoke or steam and that it had agitated his eyes while another worker was hit on the head.

Neither was taken to a hospital.
