“A few years back, little dad (Craig) was mixing full-strength and non-alcoholic beers in the same glass to make his own mid-strength-brew. One day he told big dad (Ryan), who said, “That’s genius. I love craft beer, but it doesn’t love me, and I don;t need extra calories. Why doesn’t this exist? Let’s make it.” Cut to an 80’s style beer-making montage and viola. Dad Strength Brewing was born. We made super-crushable, low-ABV, low-calorie beers we think are changing the future of drinking. Try it and you’ll see why we say” it’s brewed for a better tomorrow.”

About Dad Strength Brewing:

When they go low, or high, we go midstrength.

Before Dad Strength, there was simply a friendship that spanned twenty plus years and countless cold beers. However, it wasn’t until our early forties that we started doing something a bit unusual: mixing half a regular craft beer with half a non-alcoholic one, creating a 2.5–2.9% ABV midstrength brew (or “middy” as we liked to call it). It became our signature quirk because, let’s face it, we can’t drink like we used to. We’re dads now, with responsibilities, and even a couple of high-alcohol beers can make the next day a struggle. We had a classic dad problem that needed a dad solution.

The 100% delicious, 2.9% ABV, craft beer for Dads.

This got us thinking: why didn’t this type of beer exist? We searched high and low for a delicious, full-flavored craft beer with an ABV between two and three percent, and when we couldn’t find one, we knew it was up to us to fix it. After all, isn’t that what dads do—they fix sh*t?

That's when things got serious. We reached out to our World Beer Cup gold medal-winning buddies at Atlas Brew Works. Justin, V, Corey, Austin and the gang helped us transform our idea into a reality: Dad Strength. Brewed with care in our nation’s capital. Does that make us the founding fathers of Dad Strength beer? Yes, it does!

Brewed for a better tomorrow.

We started Dad Strength to solve a real problem. We love craft beer, but craft beer doesn’t always love us back. With Dad Strength, five-beer Fridays are back, happy hour can actually last an hour again, and you can finally enjoy a few tasty craft brews without worrying about the next day's consequences.

That’s it, that’s our story. We hope you enjoy Dad Strength as much as we do and look forward to launching the midstrength movement together. Cheers!

– Craig and Ryan

Half strength. Not half-assed.
There are several ways to reduce a beer's alcohol content, but most of them compromise the nose, flavor and mouthfeel. We don’t use any of those methods. Our base beer took over a year to develop by a team of award-winning brewers and each batch is crafted following our unique brewing process with painstaking attention to detail.

Brewed for a better tomorrow.
Our first challenge was to make an IPA, the daddy of all craft beers. Next, we’re tackling a Hazy IPA and our first seasonal, an Apricot IPA. From there, we plan to make a pilsner, hefe, stout, and who knows what else. But we won’t rush the process. Delicious beer takes time and great father's have an ocean of patience.

Join the movement.

We’re just a couple of dads on a mission to give you the delicious adult beverage you deserve.
