Cervecería La Tropical Unveils La Tropical Mixología

GOTTA LOVE THE MIX:

Cervecería La Tropical Unveils La Tropical Mixología™ – The World's 1st Distilled Beer™ Cocktail

MIAMI, FL . (January 16, 2025) Cervecería La Tropical, the celebrated and historic Miami craft brewery rooted in Cuban tradition and now also a distillery, is turning up the flavor and mixing it up with the launch of its groundbreaking new and patent pending cocktail: La Tropical Mixología™, The World’s 1st Distilled Beer Cocktail™. This innovative ready-to-drink (RTD) canned cocktail combines the refreshment of a cerveza with the excitement of a handcrafted cocktail, delivering sabor y ritmo (taste & rhythm) like no other and embodying the multicultural energy of Miami with every sip.

Crafted by the master brewers, distillers and mixologists of La Tropical, La Tropical Mixología™ redefines the boundaries of what a cocktail can be, while capturing the vibrant soul of Miami and the rich heritage of La Habana. The new cocktail starts with La Tropical beer that has been triple distilled in a pot distillation to create a clear, clean and smooth spirit that retains a floral nose and malty backbone. The La Tropical beer spirit is then blended with premium vodka or rum to create two distinctive flavors with a 5.9% ABV that are as perfect for vibing poolside or beachside as they are for kicking off any fiesta. Initial flavors include the below, with others to follow:

  • Pasióntini – Passion Fruit Vodka Martini Cocktail
  • Havanito – Blanco Rum Mojito Cocktail

“This new and innovative patent pending cocktail reflects the DNA of our city. It is a celebration of flavor, culture and the way we love to mix things up in Miami,” says Manny Portuondo, CEO of Cervecería La Tropical. “With La Tropical Mixología, we’ve created a fiesta in a can and in the process, a new category of cocktails, targeting the $2.6 billion RTD spirit market, which is expected to grow to $41.5 billion by 2031. It’s the best of both worlds – exciting and full of flavor like your favorite handcrafted cocktail and refreshing like a cerveza.”

Each can of La Tropical Mixología™ captures the rich legacy of La Tropical – Cuba’s oldest brewery established in 1888 in La Habana, which operated until Fidel Castro nationalized the business upon seizing power – and its remix in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District in 2021. The flavors draw inspiration from the tropical vibrancy of Havana and the eclectic and entrepreneurial spirit of Miami, making it an ideal accompaniment to life’s big and small celebratory moments.

La Tropical Mixología™ cocktails will join La Tropical’s portfolio of award-winning cervezas including the wildly popular La Original, a Vienna-style Ambar Lager that first became world famous in Havana in 1888; Tropi Crystal Pilsner, La Autentica, first launched in 1928; and some new Miami additions such as Nativo Key Tropical IPA and Tropi Flaca Light Lager with only 88 calories.

Launching on January 29, consumers will be able to get their hands on La Tropical Mixología™ Cocktails at Cervecería La Tropical’s taproom in Wynwood and select South Florida retail locations. Like the brewery’s acclaimed family of handcrafted cervezas, La Tropical Mixología™ Cocktails are distributed by Gold Coast Beverage from West Palm Beach to Key West on the East Coast of Florida. The product will be sold in 4-packs of 12 oz. cans with a suggested retail price of $10.99-11.49 per pack.

Cervecería La Tropical is located at 42 NE 25th Street in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. Further information on the brewery/distillery its many brands, the tap room, private event capabilities, etc., can be found at www.cervecerialatropical.com | @latropicalbeer | @latropicalmixologia
