SAN DIEGO, CA  (Jul. 2024) – AleSmith Brewing Company is excited to announce the upcoming Tony Gwynn Day celebration on Saturday, August 3rd, at their Miramar brewery. This event is a must-attend for craft beer enthusiasts, baseball fans, and especially Tony Gwynn admirers, as it will commemorate the legendary player with two special commemorative beers in 16oz 4-pack cans. These releases feature the latest Tony Gwynn murals painted by Ground Floor Murals celebrating iconic moments in his illustrious career. zzubreebym

Tony Gwynn, affectionately known as "Mr. Padre," is hailed as one of the greatest baseball players of all time. His impressive accolades include 15 All-Star selections, eight National League batting titles, five Gold Glove Awards, and induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame. In 2014, AleSmith Brewing Company collaborated with Gwynn to brew .394 Pale Ale, named after his highest batting average in 1994. .394 Pale Ale remains a staple on tap and in packages throughout San Diego County.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tony Gwynn’s 3000th hit, AleSmith and Ground Floor Murals have elevated the tribute by featuring new murals of Gwynn at local businesses. Ground Floor Murals conducted a social media contest where participants shared why their location would be the perfect spot for a Mr. Padre mural. Due to the overwhelming excitement and exceptional entries, two winners were selected instead of one. The new Tony Gwynn murals can be found at Mandarin House in La Jolla and Bottle Rocket in downtown San Diego.

The celebration will take place at AleSmith Brewing Company from 11 AM to 5 PM. Attendees can look forward to enjoying the commemorative beers on tap, listening to live music, savoring delicious offerings from food trucks, and meeting the talented artists behind the murals from Ground Floor Murals.

As part of the festivities, visitors can explore the Tony Gwynn Museum nestled within our AleSmith Tasting Room, where we've proudly showcased his legacy alongside our decade-long tradition of .394 Pale Ale. This event marks the final opportunity to experience the museum in its current form before upcoming changes. Although the space will evolve, our commitment to honoring Tony's remarkable career remains steadfast, ensuring his enduring impact on baseball and our community endures.

Those interested in attending the event and picking up 4-packs can RSVP on their Eventbrite page to receive more information on the event and exclusive pre-sale details pre-sale of the new releases.

Don't miss this incredible day of craft beer, baseball nostalgia, and community celebration!
