From Brewery Vivant:

Grand Rapids’ Brewery Vivant, well known for their award winning beer and food, is now upping their reputation for Spirits with the release of their own bourbon whiskey in partnership with Live Fire Republic. The bottle release debut will happen Thursday June 27 at a ticketed food & beverage event held at the brewery on Cherry Street.  Tickets go on sale Monday June 3 from Vivant’s website at breweryvivant.com   zzubreebym

“My first passion is all things beer, but I also have a secret love of bourbon” says Brewery Vivant founder & CEO Jason Spaulding.  “The chance to collaborate on this project with Chef David from Live Fire Republic has been a real treat.  Going through the barrel selection process was amazing and we came away with a top shelf Bourbon Whisky that we are super proud of” he adds.

Live Fire Republic is headquartered in Michigan and known internationally for its style of “live fire” cooking.  David Olson is the culinary entrepreneur, awarded chef, television personality, and creative force behind Live Fire Republic. David's journey has taken him to six continents, cooking, filming, event hosting and entertaining with their signature event series Feast x Fire.   In the year ahead, Live Fire Republic will continue its trajectory of exponential growth with the release of its ultra-premium Bourbon in partnership with Brewery Vivant, and launch a Michelin-grade line of cooking sauces under their Ember Craft brand for home cooks with a passion for outdoor cooking.

“Our teams travel around the world, creating and hosting very large, live fire experiential events. We’ve worked alongside some of the very best in the business, and as such couldn’t be more excited to partner with Brewery Vivant. Not only in collaborating on this amazing event, but for the first time ever - Live Fire Republic will bring our approach to live fire fare to our home in Grand Rapids,” comments David Olson founder of Live Fire Republic. “People are going to love this bourbon that we are calling ‘Burnt Offering’ and we will create an experience people will not soon forget” he adds.

People lucky enough to get their hands on the limited number of tickets will have an opportunity to get one of the first 50 bottles that will be hand signed & numbered by David from Live Fire Republic and Jason from Brewery Vivant. The event will feature Live Fire Republic showcasing the unique culinary style that they are known for. Guests can enjoy an evening of exceptional food and drink, and a chance to meet the creators behind Burnt Offering.

This chef inspired bourbon captures the synergy between grilling with fire and the charred oak character of the most American of spirits.  This shared heritage, born from charcoal and burnt wood, is a cause for celebration for those seeking the good life and amazing flavor.  Burnt Offering Straight Bourbon is a whiskey that perfectly compliments quiet contemplation and sipping around a bonfire, but is equally at home in the glasses of friends and family coming together to enjoy a meal together.  Aromas of oak and vanilla jump out of the glass followed by soft cocoa, rye spice, and dried stone fruits.  Take a sip and you’ll also discover the smooth flavors of caramel and baked goods that linger into a smoked spices finish.

Bottles of Burnt Offering will only be available for purchase from Brewery Vivant retail store at 925 Cherry Street in Grand Rapids.  Bottles will be available for sale to the general public starting the weekend after the event.  The restaurant will feature bourbon cocktails throughout the summer, highlighting the unique flavors of Burnt Offering.

“Until now, we have not had a brown spirit to add to our cocktail program” says beverage director Courtney Allen  “To get our hands on such a high end bourbon whiskey like this gets us really excited.  We are planning some amazing cocktails that will accent the beautiful qualities we get from this bourbon.  We can not wait to share this with our guests” she adds.
