Gibson Pickup Shop Original Collection:

The golden era of Gibson tone returns with the Gibson Pickup Shop Original Collection. The Gibson Pickup Shop Original Collection pays tribute to an iconic past, housing the coveted ‘57 Classics, P-90s, Burstbuckers, and more that have shaped sound across all generations and genres of music.

’57 Classic Quick Connect Rhythm

(Rhythm, Double Black, Nickel Cover, Quick Connect 4-conductor, Potted, Alnico 2, 8K)

Since 2011, Gibson USA has been using its current generation Quick Connect technology for fast and efficient control panel assembly on select guitar models. Now, with just a screwdriver, you can replace the pickups in your Quick Connect-equipped guitar with your choice of Quick Connect-equipped pickups from the Gibson Pickup Shop and reshape your sound without the need for special equipment or training.

The ’57 Classic™ humbucker has been our #1 selling pickup since its debut in 1990. The '57 Classic provides warm, full tone with a balanced response, packing that classic Gibson Patent Applied For humbucker™ crunch. They are made to the same specs as the originals, including Alnico 2 magnets, nickel-plated pole pieces, nickel slugs, and maple spacers. This '57 Classic Humbucker shares all the same specs and construction details as the original ’57 Classic but features Quick Connect 4-conductor wiring for more tonal options. You can split the coils and give your Gibson precisely the vintage sound you're looking for. The ’57 Classic humbucker features balanced coils for a smoother, creamier tone and excellent hum cancelation. The pickups are also wax-potted to remove all internal air space and any chance of microphonic feedback.

Note: All Gibson Quick Connect-equipped pickups are incompatible with pre-2011 Gibson Quick Connect-equipped models and all Epiphone Quick Connect-equipped models.

Dirty Fingers Quick Connect Rhythm:

(Rhythm, Double Black, Quick Connect 4-Conductor, Potted, Ceramic, 15K)

The Gibson Dirty Fingers humbucker™ is an accurate replica of the famous super-hot humbucker introduced by Gibson in the 1970s. Appropriately named, the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup is manufactured with three powerful ceramic magnets to produce massive output for maximum in-your-face output without compromising the original tone of your guitar in any way. The pickup's overwound yet balanced coils feature adjustable pole pieces, which allow you to fine-tune the output of each individual string. The Dirty Fingers also features shielded, four-conductor Quick Connect wiring for series, parallel, or split-coil operation and is fully wax-potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback. Whether you're crunching hefty rhythm parts in a dropped tuning or peeling the paint off the wall with a blistering lead, the Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup puts your sound out front where it belongs. If you want maximum output and sustain, this is your pickup. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

Gibson Pickup Shop Modern Collection:

The Gibson Pickup Shop Modern Collection builds on Gibson’s legacy of innovation and sound evolution with modern components mixed with higher output, to shape the sounds for future generations of musicians.

490R “Modern Classic” Zebra

(Rhythm, Zebra, 4-Conductor, Potted, Alnico 2, 8K)

As rock music developed and grew in popularity, amplifiers became larger and featured higher wattage, and the music became louder and more powerful sounding as a result. This led to a call for a more versatile pickup that could split coils through a push/pull knob and prevent microphonic feedback from occurring when the volume was turned up to maximum levels. Gibson answered with the introduction of the revolutionary 490R pickup, which has the traditional characteristics of the original Patent Applied For pickups but with two key modifications. First, a four-conductor wiring scheme allows the 490R to be connected to any push/pull knob, which lets players split the coils and increase versatility. Gibson also introduced wax potting, which does away with any air space, minimizing microphonic feedback. The 490R is a humbucker™ with the tonal characteristics of an original Patent Applied For, with a slight increase in upper midrange response.

498T “Hot Alnico” Zebra

(Treble, Zebra, 4-Conductor, Potted, Alnico 5, 14K)

A high-output version of the 490T, Gibson's 498T humbucker™ combines the more powerful response of an Alnico 5 magnet with additional balanced windings on each coil, which puts the emphasis on the pickup's upper midrange frequencies for enhanced crunch and sustain. The 498T is perfect for any hard rock application, easily overdriving amplifiers for a beefy, sizzling output that boosts any guitar's power and presence.

The pole pieces on the 498T are also aligned a little further apart to accommodate the spacing of the strings at the bridge, which is different than the spacing of the strings at the neck. This aids in producing powerful leads and thick rhythm without sacrificing single-note definition. The 498T features shielded four conductor wiring for series, parallel, or split coil operation and is fully wax-potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback.

496R/500T Set

(Double Black, 4-Conductor, Potted, Ceramic, 496R: 8.4K, 500T: 15.2K)

This 496R/500T pickup set combines the 496R and the 500T. Introduced in the early 1970s, Gibson's 496R pickup filled the need for a more powerful humbucker and helped energize the emergence of hard rock and heavy metal. With its powerful ceramic magnet, the 496R delivers incredible sustain and cutting power, adding more highs and increased definition without producing any muddiness at all. When used in conjunction with a ceramic bridge pickup such as the 500T, the 496R loses none of its incredible definition. The 496R features neck–spaced pole pieces and shielded four-conductor wiring for series, parallel, or split-coil operation. It is also fully wax-potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback.

If it's no-holds-barred, in-your-face hard rock licks you want, look no further than the 500T. The Gibson 500T Super Ceramic Humbucker's powerful three ceramic magnet structure enables this monster humbucker™ to cover lots of territory. This Gibson ceramic pickup can scream or growl - never losing its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs. Like the 496R, the 500T features shielded four-conductor wiring for series, parallel, or split-coil operation. It is also fully wax-potted to eliminate any chance of microphonic feedback.
