From Hi-Wire:

ASHEVILLE, NC — Last month at the World Beer Cup, Asheville's Hi-Wire Brewing clinched a major victory at what is considered the world’s most prestigious beer competition, held this year at The Venetian in Las Vegas in conjunction with the Craft Brewers Conference. The brewery was honored with a silver medal for its Churro 10W-40 Imperial Stout (8% ABV) in the competitive Dessert Stout category. This win marks a significant achievement for Hi-Wire, one of just two breweries from Asheville to medal in this year’s competition, which saw 9,300 entries from over 2,060 breweries across 50 countries.  zzubreebym

The 10W-40 Imperial Stout Series from Hi-Wire has captured the hearts of stout lovers around the world year after year with its regularly changing lineup of bold but balanced flavors. Ranging from Irish Coffee to Mudslide, this best-selling specialty series introduces a new variant every other month, continually keeping fans on their toes looking for that next unique flavor. The award-winning Churro 10W-40 variant, a decadent blend of chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and lactose, is currently available while supplies last on both draft and in 4-packs of 16-ounce cans across Hi-Wire’s 11 locations and its expansive nine-state distribution footprint.

In celebration of this international accolade, Hi-Wire has re-released its wildly popular Vietnamese Iced Coffee 10W-40 (8% ABV) starting May 3. Sought for its luxuriously creamy texture and rich coffee notes, this beloved variant is brewed with beans sourced from Asheville’s own High Noon Roasters, a gem founded by Hi-Wire’s long-time bartender alumna, Anna Beth Eason.

Hank Marshall, Hi-Wire’s Head Brewer, expressed his enthusiasm for the win: “Winning on the world stage for a series we put so much work and pride into is an incredible achievement that we will be celebrating for years to come. Crafting and exploring unique flavors through our 10W-40 Series is a labor of love, and it’s awesome to see it recognized internationally.”

Hi-Wire Brewing will host Stout Sunday on May 19 to celebrate across its 11 taprooms spread throughout North Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio. Each location will feature unique offerings like flight specials and local pastry pairings, alongside the award-winning Churro 10W-40 on tap. This company-wide event provides the perfect opportunity for guests to savor the flavors that wowed the judges in Las Vegas.
