Introduced in 2023, the Surly Bottle Project is a quarterly beer release program for the craft beer fan in your life. Is that person you? Even better. Every quarter, we bottle a barrel-aged rarity exclusively for the subscribers, perfect for storing, sipping, and sharing.  zzubreebym


This year’s edition is called The Compass Collection, with inspiration derived from the four cardinal directions.

  • NORTH: Fernet Barrel-Aged Barleywine. Release Date Mid-February.
  • EAST: Tiki-Inspired Strong Ale. Release Date May.
  • SOUTH: Russell Rye Barrel-Aged Weizenbock. Release Date September.
  • WEST: 1792 Barrel-Aged Doppelbock. Release Date November-December.

Important Compass Collection FAQs

  • Cost: $100, same as last year.
  • Quantities are extremely limited. The 2023 edition sold out, we expect it to do so again.
  • It's a fantastic gift idea. Consider this our Black Friday email.
  • Must be able to pick it up from the brewery within 90 days of the bottle's official release. Per Minnesota law, we cannot deliver the bottles to you. Bottles not picked up will be forfeited without refund.
  • We celebrate every bottle release at the brewery. Let's hang out!
