I'd tap that !

O’zapft Is! Pennsylvania Brewing Company presents Pennsylvania's Cave Beer: lagered in a cave, poured in a cave, SOLD-OUT in a cave. Lucky Halfway to Oktoberfest visitors to the lagering cave were graveling to try a pint of our head brewer Chris Rudolph's very special oak-cask lagered Märzen Spring Fest Bier. It had been lagering here in the wood barrel for weeks, just the way the Germans also made it here at 800 Vinial in the 1800s. When tapped from the firkin this smooth beer retained the traditional characteristics of a wood-aged German Lager. In addition to being extremely drinkable, this brew reflected the fact that pre-refrigeration these caves were a necessity and thus they were carved into our hillside to maintain a perfect-lagering temperature throughout the entire year. To honor the history and commemorate 100 years since prohibition Chris has rolled out more barrels and is already utilizing the traditional process to lager additional brews.

Up next late this spring, our Cave Oak-Cask Kölsch !
