From Double Mountain:
#checktodaysdate
When Double Mountain Brewery & Cidery was established in 2007, founder Matt Swihart chose to start the brewery in Hood River, due to the pure and clean glacial waters of the area. But he never could have imagined the seemly magical health benefits the water used to brew the beer would have 16 years later. zzubreebym
If you know anything about Double Mountain, you know a few of the Brewers have been brewing beer here for 10+ years. This, of course, means the natural effects of time have settled in for our brewing maestros. Their beards have grayed, their backs are sore, and their hearing has gone by the wayside. That is, until recently, when in an effort to become more sustainable, we started sourcing our water from a new local source, tapping into a fresh water spring that runs deep under the Brewery building. It took a while for the effects of the water to become apparent, but soon the Brewer’s beards began to de-salt and pepper, and the spryness of years past returned!
At first, the cause of the “reverse-aging process” was unclear. Once the Brewers began chatting amongst themselves, they realized their shared health improvements must be from the spring water! Although the Brewers were the first to feel the effects, they are not alone anymore. Everyone who has been drinking Double Mountain beer over the past few weeks has started to feel the same benefits.
Research is still being conducted daily, but so far it has been determined that the “reverse-aging process” seems to be due to the rare combination of natural minerals found in the spring. We almost don’t dare say it because we would hate to jinx it, but this could possibly be the Fountain of Youth. Ponce de León’s treasure could be right here in Hood River. Come try it for yourself and see if your youth is restored!
