Gigantic & 54'40 Have Created... Pure Chaos

From Gigantic:

Gigantic Brewing, in conjunction with 54’40 Brewing, presents the release of a beer that is wild and free like the waters that flow from the cascades to the Pacific.  We set out to make a beer that is piney and citrusy - a true vision of a West Coast IPA, and we knew we had to look no further than right across the Columbia river to Washougal, Washington.  It might be a big river, but not big enough to keep our two great breweries apart.  We took inspiration from the Cascadia region and we hope you will enjoy what we have in store for you.    zzubreebym

“Have you ever spoken to Bolton James Minister?  Founder, owner, brewmaster of 54’40?” inquires Van, “well it’s a lot like this beer - all over the place, but it comes together in the end.”
Pure Chaos is a mix of ingredients that complement each other perfectly.  An addition of oats smooths out the bold hop punch as only a West Coast IPA can deliver.  Relish in a citrus rind aroma, with some berry and melon fruitiness, throw in a light caramelly malt base and end with a dry piney finish.  Only breweries such as these, with brewmasters who previously worked together and have known each other for 14 years, could pull off something that is Pure Chaos.

Returning label artist Paul Friedrich captured the label for Pure Chaos perfectly.  Friedrich is a pop icon and artist, internationally known for his low pop aesthetics with comic book sensibilities.  His visuals are rooted in late night cable television that celebrates and relives cultural cornerstones.  Friedrich is a creative juggernaut, and has worked with Disney, Adult Swim and Cartoon Network, ad campaigns, album art for bands and commercials for the NHL.  This is his 2nd label for Gigantic Brewing.

It's Tierra Del Stout Season!
Making a return for the fall season, Tierra Del Stout is inspired by Mexican hot chocolate, we crafted this rich and decadent chocolate stout with vanilla, cinnamon and a blend of chilies.
We were inspired by our neighbors
Tierra Del Sol at our Robot Room location at Rocket Empire Machine. Tierra Del Sol serves Oaxacan street food as well as deliciously complex moles. Tierra Del Stout is inspired by Mexican hot chocolate, but at its core is based on a mole. We use malt to create the base flavors of pepitas, chocolate, and raisin. Then we add guajillo chili and ancho chili, demerara sugar, and cinnamon to replicate the mole. The final ingredient is Madagascar vanilla beans to boost the sweet notes.

Tierra Del Stout is currently available at The Brewery and Champagne Lounge (5224 SE 26th Ave) and Robot Room at the Rocket Empire Machine (6935 NE Glisan). You can also look for Tierra Del Stout on draft and in 16.9oz refillable bottles at finer grocers, bars, bottle shops and bodegas in the Portland metro area and throughout Oregon.
