Silver Oak Winery’s August 6 Release Day Celebration Marks 50th Anniversary
WHAT: Silver Oak, the iconic American Oak-aged Cabernet Sauvignon, will hold a series of events to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, culminating in its bi-annual Release Day - Napa’s best known release day celebration - at Silver Oak in Oakville, Calif on Saturday, August 6th. Silver Oak is a member of the “Class of ‘72,” America’s most famous rookie year ever, which also celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
The programming will include:
- Three days of Events on Thursday, August 4th, Friday August 5th, and Release Day on Saturday, August 6th
- The one-time-only release of a Silver Oak Pomace Beer in collaboration with Pliny The Younger producer Russian River Brewing Company, paired with bites by Michelin 3-Star Chef Christopher Kostow at Charter Oak in Saint Helena
- The release of the new 2018 Silver Oak Alexander Valley, along with a $500 limited edition, 50th anniversary magnum of Silver Oak
- A performance by iconic blues artist Lee Fields & The Expressions, who provided vocals for James Brown biographical film, “Get On Up”

Thursday, August 4th at 6:40pm PST: “Best of the Bay” dinner series - Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery, 915 Oakville Cross Rd Oakville, CA
The events will kick off on Thursday, August 4th with a “Best of the Bay” dinner at Silver Oak’s Oakville location, where four local chefs will collaborate for a special night.
Friday, August 5th at 6:30pm PST: Release Day pre-party - The Charter Oak, Saint Helena
A party on Friday, August 5th at The Charter Oak in Saint Helena will feature a one-time Silver Oak Pomace Beer in collaboration with Russian River Brewing, paired with bites by Napa Valley icon and Michelin 3-star chef Christopher Kostow.
Saturday, August 6th from 12-4pm PST: Silver Oak Release Day - Silver Oak Napa Valley Winery, 915 Oakville Cross Rd Oakville, CA
On release day, Silver Oak will unveil the 2018 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and include entertainment from Lee Fields & The Expressions, with signature bites from SingleThread, Little Saint, Four Seasons Napa Valley and the Silver Oak culinary team.
A $500 limited edition, 50th anniversary magnum, produced from only eight barrels of Silver Oak Cabernet, will go on sale at 9am PST
