I get to try out all sorts of new beer-related items, and today I’m excited to try out one that I think is a really good fit for me. I should admit up front that I regularly sit on the couch with a beer, and the way my couch is setup, there just isn’t an easy way to put your beer down and still have it within easy reach.
Enter Sofa Stud, the new spill proof drink holder that works with your couch. The Sofa Stud has a thin paddle that squeezes between your couch cushions and it secures the cup holder making it stable enough to hold your drink. The top portion has a wide base that rests against your couch cushions, and it’s really just that simple. The Sofa Stud is durable, flexible, it uses BPA-free plastic and it is easy to clean and store. It comes in white with a logo like the unit I’m testing and also black; and Sofa Stud is also working on a larger “Mug Worthy” unit so stay tuned.
I’m really curious to try it out….so off we go…I tested the Sofa Stud on my own couch and it was simple to setup and simple to use. My couch has both really firm cushions and really tight gaps between the cushions to hold and support the Sofa Stud so it worked great. I tested it with a 12oz can, a 16oz can, a 12oz bottle and a large 20-ounce nonic glass full of beer. In every case the Sofa Stud was stable and it worked well. I will say the full 20-ounce glass was a bit top-heavy until I drank a bit, but unless you really jumped on the couch, it was just fine.
Overall the Sofa Stud is a great idea and it’s definitely one of the devices I’ve received that I know I will use over and over again. I should also mention that I tested this with beer, but it will work for just about anything that will fit in the holder like soda, seltzer, cider or even a baby bottle.
Be sure to try out Sofa Stud for yourself, and when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
