Liberty Cap Brewing Company of St Joseph Mo has decided to cease production.
Founder and owner, Daniel Moser started Liberty Cap Brewing in 2016.
Liberty Cap has been selling ales and ciders to Northwest Missouri in cans and kegs since 2018. The closure of Liberty Cap Brewing is in part due to substantial growth of its parent company, Royal Packaging, also of St Joseph. Time constraints of the owner, due to the record growth of Royal Packaging, do not make it feasible to continue both operations, so the decision has been made to focus energy and resources on Royal Packaging.
Closure of the brewery was planned for May 2020 back in November of 2019. Our last employee moved to another job early in May as the closing date approached. We have continued to sell existing stock for the last few months, but that will be drawing to a close over the next several weeks.
Liberty Cap is proud to have brought production brewing and self-distribution back to St Joseph after a many decades long void of such
operations in our town. Parent company, Royal Packaging will retain ownership of all Liberty Cap Brewing brands, recipes, and art in case we ever feel like re-entry into the market. We made lots of new friends and tipped lots of glasses back of locally made ales. We will be sad to go, but would do it all over again without hesitation. We proudly ended the lack of local beers in our town and that was well worth the effort. See you around and Cheers!
