Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Portland Cider RazzBerry (Review)

Portland Cider Co. Kicking Off New Seasonal Lineup with RazzBerryI’ve really been enjoying all of the diverse ciders I’ve been sampling over the last few years.  There are always fun flavor combinations and seasonal varieties; but none stand out more than the unique ciders coming from Portland Cider.

Today I’m luck enough to get my hands on a new seasonal cider coming from Portland Cider called RazzBerry.  Based on the name you can probably guess what fruit is on-board, but there’s more.  RazzBerry not only uses raspberries, but also Northwest-grown apples, lemon zest and Hood River Valley pears.  As Portland Cider puts it, “RazzBerry is the perfect cider for the sunshine that's right around the corner here in the Pacific Northwest; or at least it will give you all the summertime feels if the spring rain never lets up!," said Helen Lewis, marketing director for Portland Cider Co. "Last summer’s seasonal Pineapple Rosé was such a hit we made it year-round. RazzBerry is the perfect replacement this year.”

I should mention up front that delivering cider in 19.2oz cans is perfect.  Not only does the can itself look great, but it’s the perfect size for a 5.8%-AbV cider.  With that in mind, I can’t wait any longer…so off we go:

Portland Cider RazzBerry (5.8%-AbV, 19.2oz cans)

Appearance: Enticing, bright & clear rose-pink color
Aroma:  Tart apples, tart raspberry & fresh berries
Mouthfeel:  Effervescent & bubbly
Taste:  Bright punch of tart raspberries, subtle apples & lemon and late sweet pears.
Overall:  Portland Cider RazzBerry if a refreshing mix of summer berries and tart apples.  The addition of pear adds a really nice sweet edge that balances everything out nicely.  I found it really drinkable and it pairs nicely with foods and sweet desserts..

Portland Cider RazzBerry is available now in 19.2oz cans, 12oz cans & on draft and it will run through the end of summer 2020 throughout Oregon, Washington, Northern Idaho, and Northern California…so get out there and pop a can.  And when you do try RazzBerry, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
