DC Brau Announces Design Our Can Contest For Pride 2020

From DC Brau:

WANT TO DESIGN THIS YEAR'S
PRIDE PUNCH CAN?

DC Brau Brewing and The Washington Blade are in search of a new can design for a limited edition hard seltzer to be released during this summer’s Capital Pride in Washington, DC. The can will be the fourth in the brewery’s annual PRIDE series whose proceeds benefit local LGBTQ non-profits SMYAL and The Blade Foundation. Professional and amateur creatives are invited to submit their original designs for consideration for this year’s “PRIDE PUNCH” seltzer through March 20th.

“Over the past three years, we have been able to raise almost $40,000 for organizations that make a huge impact on DC’s LGBTQ community,” says Mari Rodela, DC Brau’s Community & Culture Officer. “We’re excited to continue this partnership with The Washington Blade again this year with a special fruit punch flavor of our popular new Full Transparency hard seltzer.”

DC Brau will package approximately 1,200 cases of the special PRIDE PUNCH hard seltzer for distribution during PRIDE 2020 this June in Washington, DC. The winning can design will be chosen through a multi-step process that includes a period of public voting on the Blade’s website later this spring. The winning designer will work with DC Brau to finalize the artwork for production.

"The Washington Blade is excited to continue our partnership with DC Brau that allows the LGBT community to showcase themselves in a creative way," says Blade publisher Lynne Brown. “Over the past three years, the DC Brau Pride can designs have celebrated the joy, the activism and the rich history of our community. We can’t wait to see what comes next.”

For all Pride Can Design Contest details and to submit an entry, visit www.pridepunch.com. Deadline for design submissions is Friday, March 20 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Must be 21 years or older to participate.

Proceeds from the sale of PRIDE PUNCH will benefit local LGBTQ youth empowerment program SMYAL (smyal.org), and The Blade Foundation (https://www.bladefoundation.org), which is dedicated to funding new enterprise journalism projects and encouraging the next generation of LGBT journalists.
