From Seedstock Brewery:
To add another hard-to-pronounce beer to its historical beer-centric tap list, Denver-based Seedstock Brewery is releasing a Fredersdorfer bier!
Rather than offering trendy, sexier beers, Seedstock Brewery is one of very few breweries in the U.S. reviving the little known broyhan, polotmavy, dusseldorf alt and other old-world beers using recipes going back hundreds of years. Based on our research, Seedstock is potentially the only U.S. brewery making a Fredersdorfer bier. And the investment in old-world beers has paid off. They're continually seeing double digit growth, which, as we all know, is not the norm in the beer industry.
The Fredersdorfer was the most popular beer in Berlin in the 1830s. It is a pale brown wheat beer brewed with molasses and spicy Saaz hops. The hoppy beer (7.5% ABV) has a rich mouthfeel, crisp finish and clean spiciness, making it a great beer in 2020 or 1830!
