Creature Comforts Adding Yonah Skins Bottles

Creature Comforts Adding Yonah Skins BottlesThis morning we bring you a new beer coming from Creature Comforts in Athens, GA.  This is Yonah Skins and it will be a lager aged in oak barrels with estate Cabernet Sauvignon grape skins.  The beer is a celebration of the 2018 harvest from Yonah Mountain Vineyards in Cleveland, GA and it uses 6-months of cold maceration in oak barrels and house mixed culture.  This rosé-style looks a lot like The Curious No 10 and this version hits 6.5%-AbV.  You’re looking at the 16.9oz bottle with artwork by Melissa E. Merrill using a medium derived from red wine.  Stay tuned here for full release details.

This 1 Oct 2019 update from Creature Comforts:

A celebration of the 2018 harvest: Yonah Skins

Creature Comforts Brewing Company will release a new limited release, Yonah Skins, from its tasting room this October.
Yonah Skins is a skin-contact lager made with the brewery's house mixed culture and estate Cabernet Sauvignon grape skins locally sourced from Cleveland, Georgia-based
Yonah Mountain Vineyards.
This beer really comes to life during its cold maceration, a unique process Creature Comforts uses. After stainless fermentation, the beer is racked into oak barrels with pressed grape skins and aged at 38F for six months.
The extended cold maceration allows for maximum contact time with the skins to pull out as much flavor and color as possible while minimizing the tannin extraction. The result is a beautiful rosé beer and a celebration of the 2018 harvest from Yonah Mountain Vineyards.
Yonah Skins is 6.5% ABV. The beer will be available from Creature Comforts' tasting room in 500-mL bottles on October 12.
