(Philadelphia, PA) - The Vintage Syndicate is excited to announce an exclusive collaboration with locally-based 2SP Brewing Company and Knob Creek Whiskey: Knob Deep, a Belgian-style Tripel. It will be tapped on Thursday, January 24th and to celebrate the launch, The Vintage Syndicate locations, including Time, BAR, Vintage Wine Bar & Bistro, Heritage, Garage Fishtown and Garage Passyunk will all offer 10 oz. pours for $7 of the custom collaborative beer. Additional specials will also be available for guests to enjoy.
For this beer, 2SP brewers took their Verstappen, a Belgian-style Tripel beer, and aged it for five months in a single Knob Creek bourbon barrel personally selected by and for The Vintage Syndicate - the same barrel from Knob Creek had previously been used in 2017 by The Vintage Syndicate to create a custom bourbon. “After five months, we were left with an intensely oak- and bourbon-forward beer, which was blended back with fresh beer to restrict the intensity and allow the more delicate and subtle flavors to shine, says 2SP Brewer Andrew “Ruby” Rubenstein. “The brew comes in at about 11% ABV with a nose full of sweet bourbon and sharp clove, as well as flavors of warming caramel, charred oak, and bright ripe fruits.”
“A shot of bourbon and a pint of beer are often found side-by-side,” said Terrance Leach, partner of BAR, Heritage, Garage Fishtown, Garage Passyunk, and the brains behind the collaboration, “but we’re getting them together in the same glass with the help of our friends at 2SP and Knob Creek. It’s fun to see ‘our’ Knob Creek bourbon barrel live on and produce more for us, too.”For more information about The Vintage Syndicate or Knob Deep, please go to www.thevintagesyndicate.com/beer and visit their locations.
