Hill Farmstead Releasing Clover 11/28 (POSTPONED)

Hill Farmstead Releasing Clover 11/28From Hill Farmstead:

On Weds., November 28, we will release an exceptional and special offering, one quite close to my heart.

When I began working here—which seems like both forever and a day ago—I had a constant companion in the old office: a seemingly simple, completely composed cat named Clover. She was independent, playful, occasionally subdued and reflective. Clover was our compatriot, our guardian of grain, our huntress and our muse. We did not own Clover; she graced our presence, and we were glad for it.

In her honor, we mindfully blended our favorite barrels of Ann and Art, each of which had been aged for 24 months—guided by her lingering spirit towards a beer of elegance, grace and patience.

As our Clover often would, this beer took its own path and its own time to become what it is now: an effervescent, refined reflection of both our melancholy for her departure but, most importantly, our joy in traveling with her for a while.

For this release, we will have a tent set up outside the bottle shop with heaters to provide as much comfort as possible for those of you joining us. However, it is the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont: watch the weather and plan accordingly.

Please visit our bottle release page, http://hillfarmstead.com/bottle-release, for bottle limits and pricing information (credit card and matching ID required for this bottle).

We will also release fresh batches of Society & Solitude #7 and Marie in cans.

Check the site for release details.

This 27 Nov 2018 update from Hill Farmstead:

Hello everyone,

It is with great remorse that we must postpone tomorrow's bottle release of Clover.

Mother Nature has proven to not be our ally in the last few days. We received heavy rainfall on Sunday (creating slush!) and have received nearly 10 inches of snow over the last 24 hours. Heavy snow is expected to continue until Thursday. Our overflow parking lot, which is already taxed during these much anticipated bottle releases, is unfortunately not serviceable. The tent company has strongly advised us of potential safety issues with the tent being set up in the current weather conditions. Due to these and a host of other reasons, we feel that we are left with no other choice but to postpone the Clover release.

This truly is uncharted territory for us. In our nearly 9 years of business, situations such as this have been a rare occurrence. Our goal is to always offer a safe and enjoyable experience to our guests but - under these circumstances - we do not feel confident that this could be achieved.

We have long feared that winter could cause something of this nature to happen. We will continue to work on improving the customer experience.

We are deeply sorry for any one that has already began traveling or has planned a trip here surrounding this release. This decision was made with the best intentions and for the safety of all customers. For those of you who still intend to visit the brewery this week, please travel carefully! We will make sure we have the vintage cooler well stocked for your onsite enjoyment as well as a great selection of cans to take away with you.

Further information on the release of Clover is forthcoming. It will likely be moved to the late spring when we can be more certain of our weather and ground conditions. We truly hope everyone understands and will join us in the future.

Thank you,

Ben Bruce
