Mass. Bay brewing co. Is issuing a voluntary recall of approximately 720 cases harpoon hoppy Belgian blonde in 22oz bottles due to the possibility that bottles may break or burst causing a risk of injury from broken glass. The company is only aware a few isolated incidents, but in an abundance of caution, we have elected to issue this voluntary recall.
The recall is limited to harpoon hoppy Belgian blonde identified by the below label and is limited to 22oz bottles with the following lot numbers listed as enjoy by dates: 8/15/18 116. Lot numbers are printed in yellow type on neck of bottle. See photo below.
The recalled products were shipped to us distributors in the states of ma, NY, NJ, vat, dc, and VT between the dates of April 30, 2018 and June 14th 2018. None of the products were shipped to Canada or to other countries, to the company’s knowledge.
Mass. Bay brewing received a complaint from a retailer that bottles burst while stored on shelves. No injuries have been reported. No other harpoon brand products are affected by this recall.
Consumers should not try to open recalled bottles. Rather, wearing protective goggles and heavy work gloves, carefully place recalled bottles into a cardboard box, seal the box and place box immediately in a trash container to be collected. Do not try to transport the product back to the store where is was purchased. Customers who wish to request refund will be asked to provide a photograph of the recalled bottle showing lot number.
