MIAMI, FL On Saturday, August 18, Wynwood Brewing Cowill host a “five years in the game” anniversary block party to celebrate the family-operated brewery, its award-winning craft beers, and the people who helped make it the success it is today. The anniversary celebration will feature more than 25 beers, including five commemorative special release beers with unique bottle artwork designed by local Miami artist 8-BIT.
“I like to say we’ve been figuring it out since 2011.”
Since opening their doors in 2013, Wynwood Brewing has brewed over 300 beers, including Miami’s Blonde Ale, La Rubia and the GABF gold medal-winning Pop’s Porter, served thousands of neighbors and visitors at their brewery and tasting room in the Wynwood Arts District, and helped lead the way for Miami’s thriving craft brewing scene.
Co-founder Luis Brignoni shares his enthusiasm for the milestone, “We are very excited to celebrate five years in the game doing what we love to do. We look forward to celebrating this anniversary drinking some delicious beers with the community, which we consider family, and look forward to celebrating many more years and beers ahead!” Luis G Brignoni and his father Luis “Pop’s” Brignoni founded Miami’s first craft production brewing in 2011, opening for business officially in August, 2013. Luis Brignoni jokes, “I like to say we’ve been figuring it out since 2011.”
Leading up to the anniversary, Wynwood Brewing will release five versions of a barrel aged Imperial stout in 12oz bottles, with each bottle featuring a unique color palette as a variation to the same design. For this, Wynwood Brewing teamed up with local artist and long-time friend 8-BIT to design the label of this 5-year commemorative beer. Ño, is the strongest beer Wynwood has brewed to date clocking in at 14% ABV and aged in bourbon barrels. Five versions of the beer were created in honor of each year Wynwood has been in operation including: Original, Mole, Coconut-Vanilla, Chocolate-orange, and Tiramisu. Each 12oz limited edition bottle will be $10.
For the celebration, WBCo will close 24th Street to local traffic between NW 6th Avenue and NW 5th Avenue from Noon to 11:00pm. The event will feature over 25 Wynwood beers, including core favorites like La Rubia Blonde Ale, Pop’s Porter, Lock-On, and Laces IPA. The family-friendly event will be packed with music, a collaborative menu by Sparky’s BBQ, games and good times. Attendance is free to the public, and $6 beer tickets will be available for sale with proof of 21+ ID.
The Miami born company, Wynwood Brewing, understands the importance of providing shade and free water to all attendees during the event. Wynwood will also be teaming up with SolScents, a local sunscreen company who will be in attendance to keep patrons protected.
