Smuttynose Smuttlabs Returns With Lady Stardust

Smuttynose Smuttlabs Returns With Lady StardustFrom Smuttynose:

HAMPTON, NH  — Smuttlabs, the creative and innovative subset of Smuttynose Brewing Company, makes its highly anticipated return to the local craft beer scene with Lady Stardust, a New England IPA brewed with New England backyard barbecues, beaches, and lazy Sundays in mind.

Lady Stardust will make her debut on Saturday, June 30th, at 11am for a brewery-exclusive release. This beer will be sold in four packs of 16 oz cans, with a two-case limit per person. For those interested in an exclusive preview of Lady Stardust before its official release on Saturday, there will be a nighttime event called “A Walk Among the Stardust”, named as a nod to the classic Bowie tune, in the field from 7:30pm-10:30pm on Friday, June 29th. This starlit stroll along the Smuttynose Disc Golf Course will end at a bonfire after dusk. Pints of Lady Stardust will be available on draft fireside to sip under the beautiful starry night.

Lady Stardust is a delicate IPA with mild bitterness and tropical fruit aromas: pineapple, citrus, mango, and just a dash of pear. It’s beautiful golden haze comes from hops, flaked wheat, and flaked oats. Lady Stardust features a myriad of hops: el dorado, amarillo, citra, hüll melon, ekuanot, and madarina bavaria all combine beautifully in this easy sipping IPA.

Head brewer of Smuttlabs, Charlie Ireland, looks towards the future of the brand, citing Lady Star Dust as a major re-launch of Smuttlabs beers.

“Although I am captaining the creative foundation of the new Smuttlabs beer concepts, I am excited to work in collaboration with my team of brewers to create the best product possible,” said Ireland. “This collective mentality is what Smuttynose strives for in our creative process.”

These new Smuttlabs releases will entice and excite; craft beer fans can expect to see fresh styles coming soon like tropical double IPAs, raspberry milkshake beers, and hoppy goses to name a few.

Smuttlabs isn’t the only team working towards innovation here on campus; Smuttynose has welcomed new additions to its events, sales, and branding teams. The Smuttynose team is injecting new life into Smuttynose with innovative concepts, creative designs, and beer-centric events—all with the same great taste and quality that Smuttynose is known for. Keep an eye out for some big changes to the Smuttynose Restaurant, brands, and beers in the coming weeks.

25 Feb 2019:

LADY STARDUST NEW ENGLAND IPA
Appearance: Lady Stardust is an enticing New England IPA. Pouring a hazy straw-colored yellow, this beer seems to glow from within. She pours a think two finger head that quickly dissipates down to a frothy 1-inch pure white head. When held to the light, a lighter yellow comes through and highlights the beer's haziness.
Aroma: Tropical notes of pineapple and mango jump out at your first sip. After a few moments, the subtle notes of pear and tangerine come through with mild candied lemon.
Taste: This New England style IPA is anything but standard. The hop notes are followed by a subtle bitterness with beautiful citrus notes and candied grapefruit. The malt bill lends a wonderful softness to the flavor and allows the pine and citrus to pop forward and then mellow out quickly, allowing you to enjoy the next sip like it’s your first.
Mouth Feel: Lady Stardust has an exceptionally soft mouthfeel, as you would expect from a hazy NE IPA. Thanks to the flaked oats, this beer fills the pallet nicely. This beer comes in at 6.9% ABV and 40 IBU, and it sips like a session.
