From Braxton:
In honor of Braxton’s THREE year anniversary, we brewed a New England IPA with THREE of our favorite IPA hops – Citra, Mosaic, and Galaxy – and dry hopped THREE separate times! Yesterday’s Headlines Vol. 3 pours a hazy straw yellow with a pillowy white head. It gives off aromas of peach, mango, and grapefruit from the citrus heavy hop selection. The creamy mouthfeel comes from a hefty addition of flaked oats, as well as, lactose sugar. A tropical punch hits the palette with overripe mangoes, pineapple, and stone fruits. Enjoy this one with us as we celebrate Braxton’s three year anniversary!
Citra, Galaxy and Mosaic have gained cult like status in the craft beer industry. In the spirit of celebration, we knew Yesterday’s Headlines Vol. 3 needed to be special. We chose these hops to bring as many notes of citrus and tropical fruits as possible. The unique combination of the three we selected will deliver notes of stone fruit (peaches, apricots), citrus fruit (grapefruit, tangerine), and lastly tropical fruits (pinneapple, papaya, mango).
And for this project, we also introduced a new method into our hopping process. We used Lupulin Powder instead of pelletized hops for the Galaxy addition. We have never used this form of hop before, and were really excited to introduce it in Yesterday’s Headlines Volume 3. It contains all the essential oils and specs that we need when using a hop, but significantly less green/leafy matter to reduce the grassy notes you can get with heavy hop dosing. The result is a beautifully smooth New England IPA.
We can’t wait to share this with you at our 3 Year Anniversary. The 4-packs of 16 oz. cans will be $12.99 and limited to four 4-packs per person. The limited quantity will be available beginning at noon inside the taproom. As we did at our Winter Block Party, we’ll have a can check that allows you to “reserve” your cans early in the day and pick them up when you’re ready to leave. We can’t wait to lift one to life with you!
