It seems like only months ago we had announced plans to break ground on a second taproom/brewery location in Detroit, MI with plans to open the winter of 2017… well, guess what? Winter 2017 is right around the corner and so is our second taproom! Construction moved along at breakneck speed and we are now (just about) ready to open our doors to Founders Taproom – Detroit and we could not be more pumped.
First things first, let’s get that taproom open!
Founders Taproom – Detroit Grand Opening
When: Monday, December 4, 2017 3pm-12am
Where: 456 Charlotte St. Detroit, MI 48201
Come join us in kicking off our first-ever second taproom location in style! We’ll be opening the doors at 3pm sharp with plenty of food, beer and good times. Come check out our new 14,000 square foot space and get to know our awesome employees.
Starting on Tuesday, December 5, the Detroit taproom will have normal hours, which are:
- Sunday-Wednesday 11am-12am
- Thursday-Saturday 11am-1am
Since we’re opening a taproom in early December, we thought we’d get it going with a bottle release. That’s right, we’ll be selling a select number of CBS bottle tickets on Saturday, December 2 at 11am EST through this link. Some things to note about our Detroit CBS bottle release:
- Bottle tickets for Grand Rapids pickup are non-transferrable to Detroit pickup (and Detroit to Grand Rapids)
- Tickets are $50 each and include two bottles of CBS
- Tickets are name and date-specific – you must pick up your bottles on the date specified on your ticket
- The name on the ticket itself, the credit card used to purchase the ticket and the ID of the person picking up the bottles must all match
- Refunds will not be issued for unused or lost tickets
Pickup takes place at the Detroit taproom on the date specified on your ticket. There will be three days to pickup:
- 12/15/17 from 11am-9pm
- 12/16/17 from 11am-9pm
- 12/17/17 from 11am-9pm

Already know you’re going to be a regular? Reserve your space to join our Detroit Mug Club… now! There are 800 spots available and, in order to reserve one for yourself, you must signup via this link. Some info about our Detroit Mug Club:
- New memberships cost $60 ($68 to engrave an image on your mug)
- You can only purchase one membership
- Membership can be claimed in person at the Detroit taproom with your valid, government-issued ID and your confirmation ticket
- 21+ only (you knew that, though)
- You will be issued a Mug Club ID card upon claiming membership. ID Cards must be shown in order to receive discount
Benefits include:
- Your very own mug with choice of text or image (note that image costs $8 extra)
- $1 off draft beers all day, everyday
- $2 off draft beers on Thursdays
- $2 off growler fills all day, everyday
- Discounted entry to events in Detroit and Grand Rapids
- Occasional access to select limited pre-release tickets for beer and special events
Grand Rapids mug club members can enjoy their discount at the Detroit taproom upon showing their mug club ID card. Same for Detroit members in Grand Rapids!
