San Marcos, CA, -- Cable Car, CFH, Brouwers Blend… Every once in awhile, The Lost Abbey creates a special beer for awesome friends. 24 Steps is the newest addition to that list. Brewed for the 20th Anniversary of Monk’s Café in Philadelphia, 24 Steps will be released simultaneously in both Philadelphia and San Diego, October 28th.

Named for the amount of steps required to retrieve a beer from Monk’s World Famous cellar, 24 Steps taps into the lore that is the underground of Monk’s.image

World famous publican and owner of Monk’s Café Tom Peters was instrumental in the blending process of 24 Steps, hand picking the three separate beers that created the final blend of this Oak-aged blended Sour Ale.

“Tom has been a great ally and an even better friend for quite some time, and we’ve been throwing this idea for a beer around for a while now” said Tomme Arthur, COO and Co-Founder of The Lost Abbey. “The cellar at Monk’s is a magical place. So magical, that in all my travels, I’ve yet to see it.”

24 Steps will be released in both Philly and San Diego, Saturday October 28th. The San Diego release will be limited to 30 cases total, with none being reserved for vintage. Bottles will be limited to 4 bottles per person on a first-come first-serve basis at the San Marcos Lost Abbey Tasting Room.
